CANCELLED: Sunday, March 15 Church Service. Please read on…

After consultation with the Wardens, and considering my own situation of getting over a cold (a regular cold, I am confident), I have decided to cancel our service of public worship this coming Sunday, March 15th. This is not a decision taken lightly. Significant restrictions were already in place for Sunday as you are aware, and given the fact that I am coughing, I could not responsibly attend at this time, and I did not want to impose added responsibilities on others to cover for me at a time when people may, for various reasons, prefer to stay at home. All things considered, it seemed best to me and to those with whom I consulted that we cancel.
Please spread the word. I also ask that if you know anyone who may feel a keener sense of social isolation because of this decision, you reach out to them to say hello and check in. I would be happy to talk or pray with anyone over the phone who would like to do that. Please also keep in mind those of our number who live in retirement or long term care homes, as visits and programs there have been severely restricted and in some cases stopped.
Our Archbishop has promised to be in touch with all our churches early next week with a decision as to any further measures that may be taken over the next few weeks.
In the meantime, we are still the church! Keep praying. Keep giving. Keep reaching out. On the prayer front, I have attached an order of service for this coming Sunday that can be prayed at home. Whether you are alone or with family, you can use this form of Morning Prayer (which includes the readings for Lent 3). My family and I will be praying this together in our home at 9:30 a.m. I hope you will “join” in.
Morning Prayer Together while Apart
In hope,
